Launching their new album ‘Last Of Our Kind’, I headed down to the Gibson studios just off of Oxford Street to do a quick session of The Darkness’s new line up featuring Roger Taylor’s son Rufus. The theme of the launch night was ‘Vikings’ hence the extras!
Headlining the O2 tonight was Jack Savoretti, awesome show and great bunch of chaps
Today I travelled a short distance to The Doghouse Studios in Shiplake near Henley to photograph The Palma Violets and their producer John Leckie. They were on fine form drinking tins of beer at 11am and listening to playbacks of their hotly anticipated new album. I set up my lights and got some great live shots as well as a few set ups in the grounds of the studio.
On a busy road in Shepherds Bush you will find the Acton Vale Working Man’s Club and that is the location for today’s video shoot for Jack Savoretti’s The Other Side of Love track from his new album. His good friend Rafe Spall is the main character in the video, finding himself in different situations with all sorts of interesting characters.
Great Prog Magazine cover using my photos of Steven Wilson. Out on the shelves now!!
Over the weekend I actually read the papers for the first time in months and I spotted my photo on an ad for Spandau Ballet’s upcoming UK tour in March, be sure not to miss it!
On Thursday I had the honour of spending the day with Mr Ferry while he was filming the video for ‘Driving Me Wild’ plus a few other treats in RAK Studios.
Great article in Q with Noel G this month featuring a full page portrait of Noel from my Resonators series. Limited edition prints are still available in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and there will be some exciting book news very soon including some brand new Resonator portraits! http://www.shootgroup.com/prints/scarlet-page-resonators/
Friday 5th december saw The Smashing Pumpkins hit town, I was lucky enough to see them play as part of Radio6 music’s live sessions at Maida Vale. It was awesome, they are truly back with a vengeance. In the evening I got to photograph the new line-up backstage at Koko Camden and got some cracking shots of Marilyn Manson who came on for their encore.
In a swish new Shepherds Bush hotel shooting a talented lady named Keisza. I love photographing true performers, she can sing, dance and is amazingly photogenic. We do a whole press sessions worth in 30 minutes. She is bringing 90’s music back too, awesome!
